CIONET ANNOUNCES THE 5^TH WINNER OF THE EUROPEAN DIGITAL LEADER OF THE YEAR 2020 PROGRAM

Miguel Teixeira, Digital Transformation Lead - Europe 2 at Groupe Renault elected the Most Inspirational European Digital of the Year 2020

MECHELEN, Sept. 16, 2020 – CIONET, the global community of senior digital and IT executives around the world, announced today that Miguel Teixeira, Digital Transformation Lead – Europe 2 at the Groupe Renault is the winner of the Most Inspirational European Digital Leader of the Year 2020 Award.

This award recognises the European Digital Leader with the most inspiring and compelling profile and that has proven to be an outstanding role model of what great Digital Leadership should be today. The finalists of this award were all the 25 Digital Leaders that had been previously selected to participate in the European Digital Leader of the Year 2020 program. The winner was selected through a public vote based on their Leadership Deep Dive interviews with Hendrik Deckers (CIONET’s Founder and Managing Director) which have been released in CIONET.TV.

With the Most Inspirational European Digital Leader of the Year 2020 Award, CIONET aims to put the spotlight on these top Digital Leaders in order to further raise awareness in the public of their increasingly strategic roles as profit drivers and to recognize and celebrate their achievements. This new award empowers the public to join this celebration and expands CIONET’s European Digital Leader of the Year 2020 program.

The European Digital Leader of the Year 2020 program is a collaboration between CIONET and Dr. Nils Fonstad, Research Scientist at MIT CISR. Now in its 10th edition, the EDLOTY 2020 program brought together a committee of experts, including the winners of the previous editions, to select four winners from 25 prominent finalists from 9 European countries.

The Jury reviewed each finalist’s Overview of Accomplishments document to assess how well they adjusted their strategy and managed their team to meet business needs and generate a higher level of sustainable business value. Based on these criteria, the Jury selected the top four in the following categories, according to the scope of each finalist’s organisation: Finance, Public / NGO, B2B and B2C.

Miguel Teixeira joins the following Digital Leaders as the 5th winner of this year’s awards:

• Finance: Dr. Anke Sax - CIO, Financial Industry
• Public/NGO: Erwin Verstraelen - Chief Digital & Innovation Officer, Port of Antwerp
• B2B: Rui Pedro Silva - Head of Products, eCommerce Logistics , A.P. Moller-Maersk
• B2C: Geert Standaert - Chief Technology Officer, Proximus
