Enel Group is an energy company that serves 75 million customers connected to their grid in 40 countries. It was one of the first traditional organisations of its size in the industry to move entirely to cloud – the process was finalised already in 2018.

In this Leadership Deep Dive Interview Hendrik Deckers discussed with Carlo how the organisation was evolving from an asset-based company to a platform-based company – by optimising its system portfolio and moving away from customisation towards more standardisation. Carlo also explained the process behind developing an internal software company, which reduced the cost of the application development internally by 30%, time of development by 20% and at the same time improved the quality of applications by 60%.
