Leading Software Provider boosts Cyber Resilience with Trend Vision One™
A global software provider, specializing in serving government agencies, faced the challenge of enhancing its cyber resilience.Trend Micro's advanced security platform, Trend Vision One, has provided the organization with the necessary tools to improve visibility, detect threats, and mitigate risks.
OVERVIEW
As a global software provider for government agencies, hospitals, and other security-conscious organizations, one UK-based company must ensure exceptionally high levels of security protection. Relying on a multinational team of security managers, engineers, analysts, and solution architects to function as a companywide security operations center (SOC), they needed to boost their cyber resilience.
"I see Trend Micro as an enterprise partner, not just a software vendor. If we have problems or issues, I can go to them for support and ask for recommendations."
CHALLENGES
The company in question hosts a closed network that can only be accessed via specific laptops. For its day-to-day network, however, they needed to reduce the potential for human error that could expose its endpoints to security risks.
“We’ve tried many security tools over the years, and they were all just noise generators overloading us with alerts. We needed a system that could provide us with real, actionable insights while boosting our cyber resilience,” says the company’s senior security architect.

WHY TREND
With the aim of improving their overall resilience—and to meet strict compliance regulations—the organization selected Trend as a replacement for their existing security provider.
“The experience with Trend has been positive from day one. The Trend Micro support team’s knowledge is brilliant, and I like the way they work with us to make sure we’re doing what we’re supposed to be doing. They are persistent in keeping me informed. We work extremely well together as partners, which isn’t the case with the other vendors I work with,” notes the company’s senior security architect. “That speaks volumes about the relationship—I see Trend Micro as an enterprise partner, not just a software vendor. If we have problems or issues, I can go to them for support and ask for recommendations.”
SOLUTION
Since implementing Trend Vision One, this software provider has improved their visibility and now, has actionable insights into potential security issues. “We see a lot of value with the executive dashboards available within the Trend Vision One console to share critical data with senior leadership during board meetings,” their senior security architect says, noting that this improved visibility came in handy recently when another company’s high-profile security incident prompted extra vigilance. “Using the Trend Vision One dashboard, we were able to manage risk over the weekend, which was a massive benefit to me and our executives. I could provide a quick risk analysis to the executives without it becoming a burden.”
These insights are also made possible by ASRM capabilities. “We have been using ASRM for the past several months and hope to accelerate the use of that feature in the future,” notes the organization’s senior security architect. “The improved insights provided by ASRM allow us to better prioritize our efforts. We take the information we get, triage it through the infosec team, and then determine our priorities.”
RESULTS
Since deploying Trend Vision One, this organization has been able to mitigate risks within its environment and detect threats that previously went unnoticed.
“We’ve been able to detect potential security incidents since implementing Trend Vision One that we would not have detected without it. It’s been a game changer without a doubt,” their senior security architect adds. “We benefit from improved reporting via dashboards within Trend Vision One, faster overall risk analysis and management, and the ability to triage, prioritize, and remediate risks and incidents through ASRM.”
For this individual, a strong connection with Trend is also critical. “The relationship is almost as important as the quality of the software. The products must deliver, and we must have a strong relationship with our vendors. We work well with Trend Micro,” they note.
WHAT'S NEXT
The next priority for this globally present software provider is network detection and response (NDR)—a solution which they plan to have Trend implement for their east-west traffic. The company will also be relying on Trend to help them create and manage 24/7 SOC security coverage.
