TRUST, COOPERATION, RESPECT
The objectives of the CIONET TRIBES program are to accelerate the resolution of the technological and organisational problems faced by modern IT departments, to give them access to a broader knowledge base and to help them drive innovation in their organisation. We do this through the exchange of knowledge, experiences and practices between experts working in the participating companies and institutions.
This Code of Conduct is a set of rules to be respected by all persons participating in the CIONET TRIBES program. Each individual that participates in the activities of the Program needs to familiarise him or herself with this code and accept its rules by signing this document prior to being admitted to the program activities. Please review this document carefully and sign it to confirm your awareness and understanding of the rules laid down in it and your willingness to respect them.
The CIONET TRIBES Program is implemented in full independence. This means that there is no commercial relationship nor interference with any service provider in the IT domain related to this program that gives such parties the right to promote their products or services. Service Providers in the IT domain have been defined as legal entities whose main activity is to develop, maintain and provide software, IT infrastructure, Integration Services, consulting, etc.
All Participants and their TRIBERS should refrain from actions that could be interpreted as a promotion of products and services offered by their company or by another entity.
We assume that the Tribers, who participate in the Program do not disclose confidential information or trade secrets and that they respect the laws and regulations that are applicable to their company or institution.
All information shared by the Tribers working for the Participant, including information, which is not of public nature, is assumed to be shared voluntarily and deliberately. Parties are aware of this and accept that this information can be used in the daily activities of other Participants. It is the responsibility of the individual Tribers to ensure that they respect the Policies and Procedures of their organisation related to confidential information.
Each Participant and each individual Triber has the right to indicate on which topics he or she does not want or cannot discuss within the Program.
Actions aimed at inducing other Participants to disclose confidential information are in violation of this code. CIONET and the Tribers adhere to the following principle: "If a particular issue is a secret or considered confidential in your organization, refrain from persuading other Participants and their Tribers to disclose similar information about their own organisation."
The obligation to respect the confidentiality and intellectual property clauses of the CIONET Tribes Participation Agreement remain applicable after the termination of your participation in the Program as an individual Triber or your organisation as Participant. You should not disclose or share any information of which you know or should know that it is confidential information or proprietary information of your company. If you do not want certain information to be used by the Tribers or CIONET, than you should indicate this clearly and before sharing this information.
By default, all CIONET TRIBE activities and conversations in the TRIBE group on the CIONET App are held under the CIONET TRIBE House Rule. This means that Participants are free to use the information received. However, you must not reveal or disclose the identity or affiliation of the speaker(s), nor that of any other Participant or Triber. The list of Participants or of the Tribers to a TRIBE event will not be disclosed outside the TRIBE. It is the responsibility of the individual Participant to the TRIBE activities to only disclose information, which is not considered as confidential by their organisation. People are free to speak as individuals, and to express views that may not be those of their organizations. In cases where the Rule is not considered sufficiently strict, an event or part of it may be held 'off the record'. This shall be explicitly agreed upon by the Participants of a TRIBE event before any confidential information is shared. In cases where Participants agree to share the identity, the affiliation of the speaker(s) or that of any other Participants with the wider CIONET community or publicly, this will have to be approved unanimously by all Participants of the event or their legal representatives. CIONET may take disciplinary action against a member or guest who breaks the Rule. This is likely to mean future exclusion from all CIONET activities.
The details of the discussions, the problems and challenges discussed and other information to be shared by the Participants should not go beyond those directly involved in the Program. However, the conclusion and recommendations derived from the collaboration can be integrated in the daily activities of all Participants. Tribers are allowed to share these conclusions with other personnel in their organisation in order to allow for the implementation of the solutions. This also includes individuals who work on the project as external resources or who are related to suppliers who work on this implementation.
You are not allowed to share information related to the Program in the public forum (this means: outside of the Triber) or to provide information related to the Program to non-participating entities or persons, including trading partners and subsidiaries, in a way that allows the Participants to be identified and addressed by technological or organisational means.
Each organisation uses support from third-party vendors – software vendors, infrastructure providers, solution integrators, advisory companies, etc. Exchanging experiences on effective models of cooperation with external suppliers and the quality of services offered on the market is one of the important issues for Program Participants.
When discussing suppliers, you should ensure that you are not violating any contractual obligations related to these suppliers. For example, disclosing the detailed value of license fees for specific products and services may violate your contract. Similarly, issues from the area of pricing, marketing, sales, should not be debated outside your organization.
Tribers are not allowed to share the personal data of other Tribers, such as contact details, with third parties without obtaining their explicit prior consent.
Tribers should refrain from using, copying or distributing materials made available to them by other Participants, which may be copyrighted by third parties, including software, graphics, films or music, without license or permission. You should always respect the intellectual property rights of other Participants, of your organisation, of CIONET, and of third parties. In case of any doubts, please contact the Tribe Master or CIONET to discuss this.
During the term of your TRIBE membership, and for a period of one (1) year immediately thereafter, you agree not to solicit any individual Triber on behalf of any other business enterprise (i.e., you will not offer employment or any kind of contract to such individual, whether directly or indirectly), nor shall you induce any individual Triber to terminate or breach an employment, contractual or other relationship with the TRIBE Participant.
We respect the interests of employers. Any conduct that may be read as an attempt to take over an employee of another participating organization in the program is considered a violation of this code.
The Participant, who delegated the Triber to the Program, who breaks this rule, will pay the disadvantaged Participant a fine as stipulated in the contract.
The best ideas are born in a friendly atmosphere of cooperation and understanding for different points of view, individual experiences and circumstances.
Participants should be respectful towards each other. We do not tolerate the use of abusive or inappropriate language, jokes and comments that could be considered as manifestations of aggression. Unfavourable references to the level of knowledge of other Participants, as well as to sex, religion, race, age, marital status, origin are strictly forbidden.
In the event of violations of the rules described above, or in the event of a risk of violation, the Participant or the Triber involved should share it with the person responsible for the organisation of the Program (the "TRIBE Master") or report it to any member of the CIONET team. We will investigate and make every effort to ensure that undesirable behaviour stops immediately and that appropriate sanctions are implemented.
