Last Thursday, 20th February, in the breathtaking setting of Winery Conti Thun in Lake Garda CIONET Italy hosted their first Community event of 2025 "Cybersecurity In the Age of AI" - an exclusive gathering of thought leaders, industry experts, and innovators shaping the future of cybersecurity.
The event was expertly moderated by Marco Goria, Cybersecurity evangelist and esteemed member of CIONET Community, whose guidance helped to facilitate insightful exchanges between the panelists and ensure a cohesive flow throughout the event.
The day kicked off with a welcome coffee, setting the stage for a day filled with engaging discussions and networking opportunities. Luc Hendrikx, CEO of CIONET Belgium, and Francesco Tondi, Managing Director of CIONET Italy, opened the event with insightful remarks. During his speech, Luc introduced Francesco as the new Country Manager for CIONET Italy, marking an important milestone for CIONET’s growth in the region.

The first panel discussion of the day centered around the impact of artificial intelligence on cybersecurity and society. Expert speakers, including Nadia Bertone, CISO & Deputy IT Director at BRT, Roberto De Paolis, Head of Digital Security & Security Operations at Leonardo and Simone Rizzo, IT Cyber and Product Security Director at Haier Group, shared their perspectives on AI-driven threat detection, Zero Trust frameworks, and the future of post-quantum cryptography. Key takeaways included the growing necessity of AI in security operations and the importance of regulatory compliance with frameworks like NIS2 and the AI Act.

The second panel explored the practical applications of AI in cybersecurity, featuring industry leaders such as Andrea Succi, Group CISO at Ferrari Group, Andrea Licciardi, Senior Cybersecurity Manager at Tecnimont, Davide Del Vecchio, Co-Founder and member of the board of directors at ASSOCISO, and Massimiliano Luppi, Director of Strategic Accounts at Tanium. Discussions revolved around AI-driven automation in endpoint management, the role of AI in Cyber Fusion Centers, and best practices for ensuring safe AI integration into security workflows. The speakers emphasized AI’s dual role as both an asset and a potential risk, underlining the need for ethical AI governance.

A special highlight of the event was the Tech Navigator video presentation by the CEO of CIONET Belgium, showcasing exciting new features set to launch in Italy.

Attendees participated in an interactive online poll, reflecting on key insights from the discussions. Following this, participants were treated to an exclusive winery tour, offering a chance to relax and network in the picturesque location of Conti Thun.
