What we learned at the CIONET CIO Vision Dinner “Business Continuity & IT Resilience in 2025”
Last week, CIOs, digital leaders and technology partners came together in Rotterdam for an evening full of insights, dialogue, and joint reflection. The central theme: how do organizations remain operationally resilient in a world full of disruptions?
- From recovery to proactive readiness
One of the central lessons of the evening: business continuity is no longer reactive. CIOs must move toward a future where architectures are designed for agility, where risks are detected early, and where recovery plans are already embedded upfront.
- Managing complexity without compromising security
In many organizations, legacy environments, SaaS services, cloud and edge systems all run alongside each other. The challenge: ensuring resilience without turning data traffic into chaos. Participants discussed how to create secure, scalable operations in this hybrid landscape.
- Cyber threats as an operational risk
Cybersecurity was not seen as a separate chapter, but as a core component of continuity. The discussion focused on how attack vectors are integrated into business risk planning and how organizations can respond more quickly — not only technically, but organizationally.
- Building networks and trust
The evening program, with roundtable discussions, provided space for open dialogue — between peers, between vendors and CIOs. Participants told me that one-on-one exchanges of perspective are often more effective than standard presentations.
