CIONET Nederland terugkijken naar 2024 en vooruitblikken naar 2025

2024 was a year of growth, innovation, and collaboration. Thanks to the CIONET community of more than 2,500 Dutch and over 15,000 international Digital Leaders, we achieved important milestones – from successful executive programs to inspiring gatherings on AI, digital transformation, and cybersecurity. Together with our business partners, we took significant steps in strengthening digital maturity and fostering collaboration. As we move into 2025, we look forward to the new opportunities and challenges that lie ahead – and to continuing our joint efforts to advance technology and leadership.
 

Looking Back at 2024

2024 was a year full of dynamism and innovation, with technology and leadership at the forefront. CIONET brought Digital Leaders from across industries together to learn, connect, and look ahead to the future. Here’s an overview of the key moments:

  • February: The Advisory Board Dinner set the tone for a year of strategic collaboration and innovation, sharpening the planning and themes for 2024.
  • March: A month of learning and vision-building, highlighted by the 16th edition of the CIO as Non-Executive Director program and the inspiring CIO Vision Dinner, which emphasized the synergy between technology and finance.
  • April: In healthcare, digital solutions took center stage with the CIO & Digital Leaders Healthcare Dinner on Digital Patient Follow-up. Public sector innovations were also explored during CIONET CONNECT #Public in The Hague.
  • May: The CIO Inspiration Tour at Heineken showcased digital transformation, complemented by an active CIONET IT Leaders Cycling Challenge and engaging discussions on the power of AI in an age of resilience.
  • June: Technology and networking were front and center with Digital Leaders Dinners such as How Real-Time Data and AI Will Power the Industrial Future. The month also featured the sporty CIO VIP Dinner, followed by the LCL North Sea Regatta the next day.
  • Autumn: From healthcare discussions to in-depth AI strategies at the CIO Vision NetConnect and Proactive Cyber Defense Dinners, the season brought a strong focus on both innovation and security.
  • November & December: The CIO Innovation Trip to the Web Summit in Lisbon inspired more than 20 participating CIOs and Digital Leaders with fresh insights from the tech world, while the end of 2024 revolved around data-driven strategies and AI roadmaps.

Looking Ahead to 2025

2025 promises to be a year in which technological progress accelerates and leadership plays a crucial role in seizing new opportunities. The focus is expected to be on:

  • AI as a Driving Force: Further development of AI strategies, with particular attention to ethics, privacy, and effective implementation.
  • Cybersecurity as a Priority: With growing digital threats, cybersecurity will remain high on the agenda, with a strong focus on supply chains and proactive protection.
  • Sustainability and Innovation: Organizations will continue to invest in technological innovation with a sustainability focus, where digital tools contribute to a greener future.
  • Networking and Collaboration: As in 2024, the importance of strong networks and knowledge-sharing among Digital Leaders will continue to grow. 


Key Priorities Deepening

  • Digital Transformation: Enhancing digital maturity and leveraging emerging technologies such as generative AI.
  • Strengthening Leadership: Programs such as executive tracks for CIOs and technology leaders will play a vital role in developing future-ready leadership.
  • International Perspectives: Participation in international events like the Web Summit will continue to broaden horizons. 
With these prospects, 2025 is set to be a year in which technology and leadership reinforce each other even further, creating tangible impact on organizations and society.

  • 11 April: CIONET Healthcare Circle – Digital Leaders in healthcare discussing Digital Patient Follow-up, supporting CIOs in the healthcare sector.
  • 18 April: CIONET CONNECT #Public – exploring innovation and digital developments within the public sector.

  • 5 May: Heineken’s successful digital transformation – tour and insights into Heineken’s digital strategy.
  • 28 May: Resilience in the Age of AI – how organizations can harness AI.

  • 2 July: Digital Leaders Dinner – Unlocking Insights: Exploring the Impact of Network as a Service, with a discussion on the impact of NaaS.

September 2024

  • 24 September: CIONET Healthcare Circle – Digital Leaders in healthcare on security and NIS-2, followed by a CIO Dinner exploring challenges and opportunities in the healthcare sector.

October 2024

  • 1 October: CIO Vision NetConnect Lunch – How to think—and act—like an AI-native, a culinary experience with a focus on AI.
  • 3 October: CI(S)O Vision Dinner – Proactive Cyber Defense, strategies for cybersecurity.
  • 10 October: Fast Forward Insights #Innovation – innovation trends for digital transformation.
  • 15 October: Advisory Board visit behind the scenes at RTL Netherlands, hosted by AB member and CTO Giovanni Piccirilli. Planning session and discussions on key topics such as AI & Leadership.
  • 18 October: Second edition of the Technology Leadership Program – launch of the intensive course for technology leaders.
  • 25 October: CIO as Non-Executive Director Program – 17th edition, elevating management and leadership to the next level.
