Improves Data Security in the Cloud

OVERVIEW

An independent healthcare technology company operates the largest financial and administrative information exchange in the United States. This company collaborates with payers and providers to apply innovative data, as well as analytics solutions and services, to help improve clinical decision-making, simplify billing, collection, and payment processes—and enable a better patient experience. The company relies on Trend Micro to help protect sensitive healthcare information and ensure compliance.

CHALLENGES

The company’s innovative technology team uses large volumes of sensitive data in an AWS environment. The team needed to enforce specific security policies, as well as governance and compliance, with stringent healthcare regulations such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). The team also needed to simplify configuration and deployment of internal security rules, such as encryption. This enables them to adopt additional cloud capabilities while maintaining compliance.

SOLUTION

After researching the available options, the team chose Trend Micro Cloud One - Conformity to strengthen their security portfolio in the cloud, enhance visibility and control over their sensitive assets, and automate compliance with regulations. Conformity is supported by its knowledge base, which uses over 600 step-by-step rules based on the AWS Well-Architected Framework. This allows the company to ensure that configuration and compliance requirements are maintained as they scale workloads and increase their commitment to cloud infrastructure. Conformity also provides the team with complete visibility into their security environment via a single pane of glass and provides actionable insights to help them respond to any incidents.

RESULTS

Now, the team can simplify the configuration and deployment of internal security rules and centrally manage and monitor the misconfiguration of cloud resources. Conformity automates the company’s compliance with healthcare regulations, providing continuous checks to ensure their security posture is upheld without the need for manual tasks or upkeep. This ensures that the healthcare provider’s infrastructure is configured and deployed securely from end to end.
