AI is moving from pilots into operational use, and the infrastructure question is becoming more concrete. The challenge is deciding what needs to be built, expanded, controlled, or delayed as usage grows. Three pressure points usually appear first. - Compute capacity requires careful planning: teams need enough GPU, cloud, or specialised processing power, while keeping utilisation and cost under control. - Data movement becomes more demanding: AI needs access to data across systems, with latency, security, integration, and quality managed from the start. - Operational control becomes essential: monitoring, access rights, resilience, cost visibility, and ownership need to scale with usage. The working question is simple: how do we support AI at scale while keeping infrastructure efficient, governed, and financially sustainable? If you are working through these choices, let’s compare approaches with others facing similar constraints.

AI pilots are easier to launch than to embed into daily operations. The challenge is changing how work happens once AI becomes part of decisions, tasks, handovers, and controls. Three pressure points tend to decide whether adoption holds. - Workflow fit matters: AI has to enter the flow of work as part of the process. - Ownership needs to be clear: someone must own the process, the controls, the exceptions, and the outcome. - User trust has to be built: people need to know when to rely on AI, when to challenge it, and when to escalate. The working question is simple: how do we move AI from promising pilots into daily work while keeping clarity, accountability, and risk control? If this is part of your current reality, let’s compare choices, constraints, and lessons learned.

Pendant longtemps, le TCO donnait une impression de contrôle. On investissait, on amortissait, on optimisait.

CHALLENGES
As one of India’s leading financial services companies, Motilal Oswal was already using Trend Micro™ OfficeScan™ solution on its endpoints, but they now required advanced security for its network and servers. With over 2,200 locations, across over 500 Indian cities, the endpoint environment was distributed and complex, which requires smart protection to block exploits and zero-day threats. Motilal Oswal also required a solution that would provide network visibility and comprehensive security to protect their highly classified data and business critical applications. Lastly, Motilal Oswal wanted an augmented, multi-layer approach that provided a single console to monitor the security landscape across endpoints, networks, and servers.
Trend Micro’s solutions enable us to offer our customers a truly secure environment that is seamless in performance. Our organization has benefited immensely from the reduced downtimes and real-time protection from the threat landscape.

WHY TREND
After conducting a proof of concept (POC) with several vendors, Motilal Oswal decided to continue its already successful relationship with Trend Micro. Trend Micro was able to stitch a tailor-made solution to protect the client’s endpoints, networks, and servers through their Connected Threat Defense. This type of defense provided an integrated and layered approach to assess potential vulnerabilities and proactively protect them. Motilal Oswal was thrilled that they could gain key insights on lateral movements as well as the ability to deploy virtual patches and consequently reduce downtimes.
The final lure for Motilal Oswal was Trend Micro’s strength in the industry. As a leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection Platforms since 2002, along with earning the rank of “most effective recommended breach detection system” for two years running by NSS Labs, they knew Trend Micro was the right choice.
We gained an excellent solution in Trend Micro’s comprehensive security suite. The main benefits of improved protection and enhanced visibility, without compromising on performance enabled us to gain a safe environment within a cost-effective budget.

SOLUTION
Motilal Oswal decided to roll-out Trend Micro™ Smart Protection Suite for endpoints, Trend Micro™ Deep Discovery™ Inspector for networks, and Trend Micro™ Deep Security™ with anti-malware and intrusion prevention modules for the servers. The Smart Protection Suite provides Motilal Oswal with the most complete user protection available against today’s evolving threat landscape. It protects against unwanted and unknown applications executed on endpoints by delivering multiple layers of threat protection and data security.
Deep Security safeguards the servers from threats by closing the gaps in protection efficiently and economically across the data center. With emergency patching, the servers are protected against zero-day malware, network-based attacks, and operational impact from resource inefficiencies.
The intrusion prevention module examines all incoming and outgoing traffic for protocol deviations, policy violations, and content that signals an attack. It then automatically protects against known, unpatched vulnerabilities by virtually patching them from an unlimited number of exploits.
Deep Discovery Inspector provides comprehensive threat detection and 360-degree visibility on the network, by monitoring all ports and protocols to identify attacks. Through specialized detection engines, correlation rules, and custom sandboxing, Deep Discovery Inspector is able to detect all aspects of a targeted attack.
The integrated Connected Threat Defense approach automatically identifies new threats and distributes the suspicious objects to the endpoints, helping improve visibility on the network, as well as enhance protection for endpoints.
We opted for Trend Micro’s solutions due to their unique capabilities of virtual patching which shields vulnerabilities in critical systems until a patch is available and the layered approach of a Connected Threat Defence which provides real-time response. The results were greater visibility, enhanced security, and a much lower burden on IT.

RESULTS
Motilal Oswal has been very happy with the benefits experienced since expanding their security with Trend Micro. Now that the client has a multi-layered security, they can enjoy seamless integration and automation of different security techniques working together and complementing each other. As well, they have had a reduction in unscheduled downtimes, and gained greater visibility through single window management. Overall, Trend Micro’s robust security solutions have proactively increased operational performance and provided Motilal Oswal enhanced protection against threats.
