Data availability keeps growing, but decision-making often feels slower. Every function builds its own dashboards, metrics multiply, and reports begin to contradict each other. What was meant to improve transparency now creates confusion. The problem is not access to data but alignment on interpretation. When information becomes noise, confidence in reporting collapses. People hesitate to act, functions challenge each other’s numbers, and trust in analytics erodes. The challenge lies in restoring clarity: deciding which metrics matter, who owns them, and how reporting connects back to action. Let’s discuss how to simplify information flows, define consistent metrics, and reconnect dashboards with decision-making. How ownership, cadence, and shared understanding bring alignment back. A closed conversation on rebuilding confidence in data, where clarity replaces overload and information once again supports action.

In the middle of the night, 200 miles from the coast, the alarm sounds. The "Man Overboard" cry isn't just about a person in the water; it’s the ultimate test of a crew’s preparation, psychological grit, and split-second communication. For the modern European CIO, the "Man Overboard" moment happens in the data centre, the boardroom, or the headlines. When the system fails, the pressure doesn't just sit on the servers; it sits on you. Join CIONET for an exclusive VIP evening at the coast, a deep dive into the Human and Digital Anatomy of a Crisis. We will explore why some leaders thrive under the crushing weight of a "Black Swan" event while others capsize, and how data serves as the steady keel that keeps the ship upright.

AI started small: a few pilots, some dashboards, a couple of chatbots. But then it spread, quickly. Now every department wants a model, every vendor adds “AI-powered” to their pitch, and every regulator is asking about risk and transparency. Governance suddenly went from a nice idea to a full-time job. Scaling governance is harder than launching AI. Policies look great on slides, but in practice, ownership blurs and enforcement stalls. Central control slows things down, while local freedom invites risk. Everyone agrees AI should be safe and ethical, but no one agrees on who signs off when something goes wrong, all leading to AIs living as permanent PoCs. So how do you scale oversight without creating bureaucracy? How do you distribute responsibility between IT, business, and compliance? And what controls actually hold up when AI keeps changing after deployment? Let’s explore how organisations make governance part of daily operations, not an afterthought. A closed conversation for those trying to keep AI credible, compliant, and under control while it spreads across the enterprise.

Lupin Limited gains maximum security with Trend Micro
Gains maximum security with Trend Micro
OVERVIEW
Lupin Limited is a transnational pharmaceutical company founded in 1968, based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Lupin manufactures and sells pharmaceutical products in over 100 countries, enjoying a major market share in India, United States, Japan, Europe, South Africa, Philippines, and Australia. Lupin has received numerous awards, including ranking number one in the Biotech and Pharma category, and number four amongst large organizations on the list of top 100 – Great Place to Work in 2017. Lupin Limited also received the Thomson Reuters India Innovation Award for Research & Development in 2017.
The growing threat landscape led Lupin to seek a comprehensive security solution that would equip its servers, network, and email with advanced protection that could detect and block security exploits. With the possibility of a future migration to the cloud, they also required a solution that came equipped with cloud capabilities.
CHALLENGES
As a global leader in the pharmaceutical industry, Lupin Limited required a highlevel security solution to safeguard critical applications in its data centers. As well, the company’s heavy use of email also made protecting email on Microsoft® Office 365® against advanced attacks a priority. With more than 300 servers running on multiple operating systems, Lupin also required the ability to detect targeted attacks, advanced threats, and ransomware across the network, capturing lateral, inbound and outbound traffic. Finally, Lupin wanted to manage the solution through a single console.
"Trend Micro is a huge plus to our organization. It has increased security by reducing the risk of data breaches. The virtualized environment has streamlined administration, without compromising security or flexibility."
Mayur Danait - CIO, Lupin Limited
WHY TREND
In the search for the right solution, Lupin found that Trend Micro™ Deep Security™ was the only solution able to meet its requirements for server and cloud protection. Deep Security supports legacy operating systems, provides seamless integration for VMware deployments, and integrates with multi-cloud players, including Amazon Web Services®, Microsoft® Azure®, and Google Cloud Platform™ service.
For the Office 365 environment, a proof of concept was performed, and the results in blocking phishing attacks, unknown malware, and other such threats convinced the IT team that Trend Micro™ Cloud App Security was the right solution. Trend Micro also came with the unique capability of providing Application programming interface (API) integration with Office 365 that prevents email rerouting.
Trend Micro’s position as a leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection Platforms since 2002, and its rank as the “most effective recommended breach detection system” for two years running by NSS Labs further encouraged Lupin to choose Trend Micro over other solutions.
"Trend Micro’s capabilities like virtual patching that shields from vulnerabilities without emergency patching, and cross-generational techniques like machine learning used to detect advanced malware are a big benefit to our organization."
Saurabh Kaushik - CISO, Lupin Limited
SOLUTION
The solution was successfully deployed in two phases. First, Deep Security was deployed in a hybrid environment. The solution was successfully deployed in two phases. First, Deep Security was deployed in a hybrid environment. Deep Security brought robust capabilities for physical, virtual, and cloud servers, in one integrated platform. The solution was integrated with Lupin’s VMware deployments, and the centralized management enabled continuous monitoring and vulnerability shielding, saving both time and resources.
Phase two included deployment of Smart Protection Complete and Deep Discovery™ Inspector. Cloud App Security was deployed on more than 20,000 mailboxes operating on Office 365. Trend Micro endpoint security, powered by XGen™ security, infuses highfidelity machine learning into a blend of threat protection techniques, providing superior protection against spam, phishing, malware, and targeted attacks.
Trend Micro™ OfficeScan™ solution eliminated security gaps across endpoints by constantly learning, adapting, and automatically sharing threat intelligence across Lupin’s environment. Trend Micro™ Connected Threat Defense delivered network sandbox rapid response updates to endpoints when a new threat was detected, enabling faster protection and reducing the spread of malware.
Trend Micro™ Deep Discovery™ Inspector provided identification against advanced and unknown malware, ransomware, zero-day exploits, command and control (C&C) communications, and evasive attacker activities that are invisible to standard security defenses, by using specialized detection engines and custom sandbox analysis. The solution further enhanced detection by monitoring all physical, virtual, north-south, and east-west traffic, offering 360 degrees of visibility.
RESULTS
Trend Micro was able to address Lupin’s security needs by shielding the data center from vulnerabilities through virtual patching, and protecting the endpoints, email, and network by eliminating security gaps. “Trend Micro’s capabilities like virtual patching that shields from vulnerabilities without emergency patching, and cross-generational techniques like machine learning used to detect advanced malware are a big benefit to our organization,” says Saurabh Kaushik, CISO, Lupin Limited.
Trend Micro was also able to complement the existing security solutions by providing outof- box integration with existing perimeter security solutions. The solution further simplified Lupin’s security operations with a single management dashboard for all capabilities.
