Monetizing fast moving innovation

The new normal is all about managing business in unprecedented times of uncertainty and volatility. The level of organizational agility required to deal with this environment is only possible with a business model that is underpinned by technology across all processes — both internally and externally facing. Hence, as we move into the next decade, the role of technology to transform businesses will continue to expand exponentially.

This means that technology leadership roles will need to be redefined and entirely new roles created. In particular, for the CIO, this implies a heightened sphere of influence.

Most common questions that are being raised by CIOs are therefore:
1. How does the organization scale digital to deliver tangible business outcomes?
2. Who should lead digital? Should it be IT, the digital innovation teams, or the lines of business?
3. How will the CIO role evolve?
4. What is the right organizational structure to get the team aligned and delivering on the digital strategy?

The list goes on. In fact, when it comes to digital business, there are far more questions than answers in this phase of the transformation journey.
