Daniel Lebeau, current VP IT of GSK Biologicals and chairman of the CIONET Belgium advisory board, has just been appointed Chief Information Officer (CIO) Designate of GSK, effective 2 April.  He will assume the role of CIO after a three-month handover period.  He will be a member of the CBS Leadership Team.

Daniel joined GSK in 2000.  He has been responsible for the development and delivery of the global IT strategy for the vaccines business during a time of significant growth.  He led the implementation of a ‘wall-to-wall’ SAP system in the vaccines business covering Finance, HR, Procurement and Manufacturing, and the establishment of an SAP Competency Centre.  During his tenure he has also driven significant efficiencies in the IT landscape, reducing technology platforms and applications, as well as automating IT deployment and operations.  In 2011, Daniel was elected European CIO of the year.
