Francesca Vergara Caffarelli is an accomplished technology leader with over 29 years of expertise in technology strategy, management and digital transformation.
Since January 2023, she has served as Vice President of Technology and Digital at
Disneyland Paris, where she leads a range of high-impact projects driving the resort’s
technological and digital transformation. Her division sits at a compelling intersection of technology and creative, spanning experiential and operational products. Francesca’s leadership is driven by a deep belief in the power of technology to elevate experiences, while
always reflecting Disney’s core values of innovation and excellence.
Her extensive career spans multiple countries, including Switzerland, Costa Rica, and Italy.
Prior to joining Disneyland Paris, Francesca was the Chief Information Officer and Digital
Transformation Leader at Esselunga, a leading Italian retailer. Previously at Italgas, she
established the Digital Program and launched a Digital Factory, the driving force of the
company’s digital transformation.
Francesca started her career at P&G where she successfully drove cultural and processes
transformation leveraging IT technologies. A strong advocate for diversity and people
development, she is passionate about empowering teams to succeed.
She holds a Master of Science in Mathematics from the Sapienza University of Rome.
Marco Caronna is a seasoned technology executive with a proven track record of transforming IT capabilities into tangible business value. As Field CTO at GitLab, he focuses on the EMEA telecommunications market, where he partners with DevSecOps teams to deliver strategic value
to their organizations.
With over two decades of experience spanning cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and
enterprise IT, Marco has established himself as a trusted advisor to C-level executives across
the US and EMEA regions. His expertise lies at the intersection of technology strategy, sales
leadership, and high-performing team development.
Marco's career journey reflects his ability to drive innovation and business results in the
technology sector. Prior to joining GitLab, he led presales architecture teams at Qarik Group,
expanding their go-to-market presence throughout EMEA while ensuring successful cloud implementations. As Vice President of Sales Engineering at DuskRise, he built global presales organizations across multiple regions and implemented customer feedback loops that shaped product development.
His leadership experience includes director-level positions at Palo Alto Networks, where he built
and managed a team of over 50 cloud sales engineers focused on Fortune 1000 customers.
and at Google Cloud, where Marco headed customer engineering for top telecommunications, media, and entertainment clients, managing teams of up to 45 sales engineers and developing strategic architectures that created repeatable sales plays and deployment solutions.
Marco further honed his technical expertise during five years at VMware, where he supported
the Americas CTO on customer-facing activities and helped business units prioritize product
evolution. His earlier roles in IT management, Linux administration, and project management
provided him with a solid foundation in technology implementation and operations.
Fluent in both Italian and English, Marco combines deep technical knowledge with exceptional executive presentation skills. His understanding of the telecommunications industry and
DevSecOps practices enables him to bridge the gap between complex technical concepts and
business objectives, making him a valuable asset to technology-driven organizations seeking to maximize their IT investments.
