According to Gartner, a Cloud Center of Excellence is the best-practice approach to drive cloud-enabled transformation. To ensure cloud adoption success, organisations must have the right skills and structure in place. The optimal way to achieve this is by setting up a centralised cloud center of excellence (CCoE).

In this workshop, we explore another option: work without a CCoE by upskilling existing teams in an existing “vertically organised” IT organisation; while at the same time introducing a more project-

like approach with roadmaps, milestones, communication plans, steerco’s etc. Let’s identify the do’s and don’t in this approach; the lessons learnt at SDWorx; and discuss whether cloud adoption, strategy, governance, automation can be handled “light-weight”.
