Introducing a series of executive roundtables from CIONET, Cognizant and Google Cloud.
For the leaders of IT, much has changed in the last decade. Ten years ago, tenure lasted far longer and the role of the CIO was much more focused on innovation, less on cost cutting. Today, in part due to the mounting influence of the chief financial officer, there is growing evidence that the role of chief information officer is in retreat.
As the innovation agenda becomes increasingly diffused across the organisation – from harnessing cloud computing to putting GenAI into action – what is the long-term future for the CIO? And how can he or she become a strategic leader, a champion of change?
A brand new series of CIONET executive roundtables – brought to you in association with Cognizant and Google Cloud – will explore these questions in detail. At three events this autumn, we will set about reassessing the role and mission of the CIO, and putting together a tangible mandate for personal and organisational growth.
Among the issues we will consider:
- The extent and limits of the office
- How the CIO can become a champion of business change
- The soft and hard skills required to lead that change
- How to move beyond cost cutting and efficiency savings
- Managing up, down and across to build new and effective relationships
Join us on the evening of 25 September for the first roundtable in the series - dinner and discussion in the company of experts from Google Cloud and Cognizant. This is the perfect opportunity to network, exchange ideas with your peers, and reimagine the future of IT leadership.
