About

Technology is a resource-intensive business – and data processing, especially in an era of artificial intelligence, is an energy-hungry pursuit. And yet technology – and technologists – offers a path towards decarbonisation and greater environmental sustainability. The IT department finds itself at the centre of one of the most challenging issues facing 21st Century enterprises. To help resolve it requires courage, leadership, and strategic thinking.

That’s why we want to bring together Sweden’s leading IT decision makers to explore the issue in greater depth.

Please join us in the luxurious surroundings of The Grand Hotel, Stockholm for an evening of fine dining, networking and great discussion .

During this specially-convened CIONET executive dinner, in association with Hitachi Vantara, we will explore the environmental impact of digital technologies, and the steps being taken by you and your organisation to cut carbon emissions and energy use.

We’ll ask:

  • To what extent are you involved in sustainability implementation plans?
  • How do you perceive the role of digital technologies as a means for addressing the sustainability imperative?
  • What actions are you taking and what challenges are you facing in addressing decarbonisation?

We will also discuss the impact of EU-wide – and country-specific – regulations on data centre use; sustainability as a criteria when sourcing vendors and service providers; and the role of public cloud hyperscalers in helping – or hindering – efforts to reduce an enterprise’s carbon footprint. Above all, we’d like to explore what sustainable data management looks like.

Wherever you are on your sustainability journey, do join us for what promises to be a fascinating evening of conversations and insights. All within the Private Dining room of this fabulous hotel in the heart of Stockholm.
