EY and ServiceNow commissioned CIONET International to survey leading CIOs about GBS activities. Over the last six months, we have interviewed eleven Group CIOs and heads of GBS at major corporates such as Novartis, Bayer, Tesco, National Grid, and DP World.

Roger Camrass, Research Director at CIONET International and Scott Mason, Partner and COO Switzerland at EY will deliver the findings.

The findings are both important and concerning for Group CIOs. The benefits of implementing GBS include workflow automation, end-to-end process redesign and much-improved employee experience. However, fragmented corporate structures and IT platforms are often blocking such a realisation.

We conclude that CIOs should position work towards integrated digital platforms to ensure that GBS benefits are realised in full.
