Adopting new technologies should not be a game of chance

Digital leaders have often misjudged technology adoption cycles due to early-stage hype and later-stage despondency. Techniques such as Social media, Mobile, Data Analytics and Cloud (MIT called SMAC) were widely promoted in the nineties but took a decade or more to come to fruition. Such is the case today with a new pipeline of techniques, such as AI, Immersive Technologies and Decentralised Autonomous Organisations (DAO), which could be even more disruptive to current business models and IT operations.

Cognizant and Google Cloud is sponsoring a series of discussion events in association with CIONET to explore how digital leaders can exploit this new pipeline. At the first event, we will discuss the following issues:

• How can you scout and diffuse new techniques within your eco-system?

• How might digital leaders influence the board to accelerate innovation?
