About

Modern organisations have reached a critical inflection point where application environments must evolve beyond mere functionality to support hyper-personalisation and AI-driven decision-making. However, the path to innovation is often obstructed by the gravity of legacy systems and fragmented architectures. To modernise responsibly, leaders must bridge the gap between yesterday’s infrastructure and the requirements of Agentic AI, creating resilient ecosystems that harmonise robust data foundations with flexible, modular strategies.

This CIONET workshop is a collaborative deep-dive into the practicalities of "rewiring the building" while it’s still occupied. Drawing on Kyndryl’s deep heritage in mission-critical infrastructure and their latest research, we will dismantle the "hidden costs" of legacy environments. The conversation will focus on the transition from static, monolithic structures to composable architectures that allow intelligent agents to operate seamlessly across hybrid landscapes.

Interactive Discussion & Workshop Pillars:

    • Solving the Debt Dilemma: We will explore how to balance the immediate ROI of maintaining mission-critical legacy systems against the necessity of a total architectural overhaul. This pillar focuses on extracting undocumented business logic from legacy code to fund a self-sustaining transition to a composable, future-ready ecosystem.
    • Assessing Agentic Readiness: Is your data foundation mature enough to support autonomous AI, or are you simply automating existing inefficiencies? This part of the workshop evaluates the shift from basic automation to Agentic AI, focusing on building the robust data liquidity and "Policy as Code" guardrails required to ensure AI agents remain explainable and compliant within complex environments.
    • The Human-AI Synergy: Beyond the technology, we will map out effective strategies for upskilling teams to manage "AI-plus-Human" workflows. We will discuss redesigning organisational structures to support a blended workforce, moving the IT mindset from manual execution to the high-level orchestration of intelligent, autonomous systems.
    • De-risking Through Intelligent Observability: To ensure business continuity during transformation, we will examine how to implement automated controls and transparency across hybrid landscapes. This involves using intelligent observability to mitigate the security and operational risks inherent in opening up legacy environments to modern, AI-driven services.

By the end of this workshop, you will have a clearer roadmap for aligning your business logic with modern execution, transforming your application environment into a resilient foundation for long-term innovation.
