On October 18th, 1990, former Olympic athlete Bob Verbeeck founded sports marketing agency Consultants in Sports (CIS) in Belgium. Starting with a small team and a few customers, the company quickly grew to organise events in more than 15 different sports.
A year ago Golazo was an organisation with 300 people organising more than 1000 physical sports events per year. The organisation was obviously hit hard by the lockdown. How did it survive and what are the plans for the future? How did it make the switch from physical events to virtual events? How did it become a marketplace for everything sports related?
How was it achieved? By transforming a heterogeneous setting into a holistic IT organisation, by developing a "great place to work" organisation, and by introducing innovation to meet the business needs.
Françoise Chombar is also the chairwoman of the STEM PLATFORM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) and will share her passion to demonstrate to kids, and in particularly to girls, how societally relevant STEM subjects are and how they benefit people and planet.
