Carlos De Backer is Professor of Computer Science (Information Systems, computer networks, databases, system software, computer audit, programming and data structures) at the University of Antwerp.
His main fields of research are Computer and Network Security, as well as Computer Audit.
Prof. dr. De Backer also serves as Secretary of the SAI (Study for Automatic Data Processing), member of the advisory board of the magazine Datanews, founder of the association βeta and co-founder of the Antwerp Institute For Enterprise Computing (AIFEC University of Antwerp).
