Frank De Saer
Frank De Saer started out as an analyst programmer for the Federation of the Belgian Automotive Industry. Three years later, he landed at the savings bank BAC (later BACOB, which was transformed into Artesia and ultimately sold to Dexia). He started as an analyst and left the financial institution as Development Manager in ICT. Since 2003 he has been ICT Director at the Federal Public Service for the Economy, SMEs, the Self-Employed and Energy.
The Federal Public Service for the Economy, SMEs, the Self-Employed and Energy is responsible for some 170 ‘business processes’ for citizens and companies. Chief among these are the Kruispuntbank Ondernemingen, the data warehouse for the National Institute of Statistics, calculation of the index rates, etc. There are 2,500 employees working in nine ‘vertical’ and three ‘horizontal’ departments. ICT is one of these departments and has a staff of 150 internal employees.
